Bitly.com
I have one simple suggestion for the company behind Bitly.com… Please consider offering an optional email alert notification when someone clicks on a link. So let’s say by default the email notifications are turned off but if signed in with Bitly.com username you can easily turn on the following type of email notifications on any individual shortened link:
- As-it-happens Email Notifications
- Once-a-day Email Click Summary
- Once-a-week Email Click Summary
- Once-a-month Email Click Summary
So for example… I set a custom shortened URL for a particular social media campaign that I am going to run on various social sites, for this example we will use the custom shortened URL bit.ly/SEOSPORT which will redirect to the homepage of my company’s website. Let’s say that I run my campaign and didn’t want to have to keep checking the bit.ly/SEOSPORT+ page which shows all of the traffic details, instead I wanted these results to be emailed to me every so often.
Bitly.com may offer these things in their advanced dashboard but they don’t list these items on their Bitly Enterprise package comparison chart.
